``Paruthiveeran`` stars Karthi and Priyamani headline this colorful tale of tragic love concerning two smitten cousins forced apart by the caste system and a lingering family feud. Muthazhagu is a young girl from rural India who longs to marry her ne`er-do-well cousin Paruthiveeran. Sevvazhai (Saravanan) is Paruthiveeran's uncle, who raised him after the death of his parents. Kazhuva Thevar (Ponvannan) places family and caste honor before his daughter Muthazhagu's wishes.
